Chapter 3 Architects Ltd has been appointed by Sweet Construct Ltd to carry out the Architectural Design for the construction of a new warehouse facility in Avonmouth for Holleys Fine Foods.
Central Park in Avonmouth has provided a significant ready-to-go opportunity with planning permission already in place. The site forms a roughly rectangular shaped plot, extending to 1.21 hectares.
The plot is generally level throughout. The site has its own access off the Estate Road off Severn Road. The proposed Holleys Fine Food Distribution Warehouse consists of over circa 37,000 sq ft of warehouse and office space, together with 40 car parking spaces including 3 accessible spaces and 8 Electrical Vehicles Charging spaces. There are also 24 Van Parking spaces together with 10 cycle parking spaces.
The height of the proposed building has been derived from the specific requirements of the client, which is deemed to be minimum 12.0 metres to the underside of the haunch. This is to provide a spacious and airy environment with sufficient height to allow for the installation of racking and an additional mezzanine level as required.
There will also be an allowance for flexibility for future expansion. It is these characteristics that have principally determined the form and design which has resulted in a building that is simple, well-proportioned and of a scale that is consistent with the surrounding area. It is considered that the design provides a form of development and quality of design appropriate to the location.
